Our optometrist

It all started when…

Nadeem Rob graduated in Optometry in 2010 from City University in London. He was then chosen to conduct his training at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. Following his training, he continued his career within the NHS joining the the world famous Moorfields Eye Hospital and Frimley Park Hospital.

He was made lead optometrist in a clinic he pioneered monitoring dry age-related macular degeneration. He was also the lead optometrist in the following clinics:

  • Paediatrics

  • Diabetic Eye Disease

  • Low Vision Aid

At Moorfields Eye Hospital he continued to further his career in complicated contact lenses, treating diseases such as Keratoconus and other corneal problems. During this time he served on the council of the Association of Optometrist representing his peers.

Nadeem has always been a key member in the research community. In fact, his first degree was a BSc. in Biomedical Science from St Georges’ Medical School and he continued to obtain a MSc. in Molecular Biology and the Physiology of Virus and Infectious Diseases from Imperial College, London.

After working in ophthalmic research in the NHS, he was headhunted to consult on clinical trials run by several pharmaceutical companies testing novel compounds to treat Wet AMD, Dry AMD, Glaucoma, and premature retinopathy. He has since worked in over 80 countries including:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Borneo ,Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Turkey, Ukraine, Wales, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE, Vietnam, Canada, Mexico, USA, Peru, New Zealand, South Africa

He has also worked across 38 of the the 50 states in the US.

His passion also lies in teaching and has taught students, optometrist, doctors, nurses, and technicians in theoretical and practical ophthalmology. He currently holds a position with the College of Optometrist in assessing optometry trainees during their pre-registration period before they qualify.

It was on his travels and specifically his time in Japan for 2 years that he realised how the UK was lacking in a practice that offered eye care excellence paired with well manufactured frames and sunglasses. He then set out to provide his hometown of Kensington, London with a unique optical experience that he has pioneered with all his knowledge gained from his exposure to world optics.

The Eye Establishment was born.
